A Bus Ticket And An American Flag

I wrote this song ten years ago. I have a deep concern and sadness observing today's black culture. Given the abundance of opportunities compared to decades ago, it's hard to tell if we're moving forwards or backwards. We seem to be stuck, unable to let go of the past and move on. Yes, of course there are exceptions, but not nearly enough. Personally I think this is something that's very difficult to be honest about. After all, who's qualified to judge? I'm certainly not. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't talk about it.

Like all great artist, musicians, etc, progress isn't possible if one doesn't have the ability to focus on ones weaknesses. Two questions I'd have:
• What do we want?
• What are we waiting for?

I'd like to know what your thoughts and suggestions might be on this subject.
I mean this to be an open forum for anyone to share
- no matter what your race is, your political views, or your musical tastes. : )
